A National Strike for an undetermined period has been announced by the main labour unions in Nigeria, commencing on Monday 9 January 2012.

Import volume for Nigeria will be held on arrival with the appropriate exception B1-Strike Exception. The release process will start as soon as UPS is able to recommence the movement of packages.

A 1-day strike by Public Sector workers will take place on Wednesday 30 November 2011.

As of midnight may 23^rd the airspace in Greenland closed, due to the new ash cloud.

Air Greenland has yet to announce any official statement but flights today have been cancelled and this will affect capacity for the rest of the week

UPS have advised SendingParcels.com of the following service updates:

A nationwide 24 hour general strike will take place today, Wednesday 11 May in Greece.

All of the public sector as well as banks, the media, courthouses, lawyers, public doctors, pharmacists, educational institutions, and public transportation will not be working.

Due to the strike, no deliveries can be made to the above mentioned sectors and many roads will be closed for demonstrations, therefore congestion on all major roads is expected.

Under these circumstances, UPS is making every effort to deliver and pickup all packages, but delays should be expected throughout all of Greece.

For certain locations in Azerbaijan, Estonia, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Malta, Russia, Spain, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, where UPS Express-level deliveries are scheduled to occur on Monday April 25 2011, customers might experience a longer transit time than usual.

Updated transit times will be available by using the “Calculate Time and Cost” tool on www.ups.com.
